The infamous Subway hike in Zion...one of my favorite hikes we've done this year. Technically called the Left Fork of North Creek Canyon, it is much better known for its resemblance to an underground subway. We did what is called the Bottom-up route, which is basically hiking through the river to get to the subway (rather than the Top-down approach, which involves rappelling down into the canyon). Whichever way you go, the end goal is this beautiful scene right here. This long cylindrical tunnel of sandstone has to be one of Zion's more interesting geological features. It is a lot of fun to photograph as well. If you are thinking of doing the subway hike or rappel, make sure you get a permit at the NPS wilderness office
