Sólhemasandur is one of the most iconic locations in Iceland. After the pilot forgot to switch fuel tanks the plane was forced to crash land on this black sands beach and, remarkably, the whole crew survived. It’s weather-battered fuselage provides for an epic foreground and if you’re lucky enough you’ll score an awe-inspiring light show.
