Pictured here: A reindeer spring-winter migration is underway in Laponia, Sweden (a designated UNESCO World Heritage site). The herd is leaving the winter grounds to go to the calving grounds in the mountains. Traveling with them, but not pictured, are the Saami herders. The Saami people who have inhabited the northern regions of Fenno-Scandinavia and Russia for at least 2500 years, are the reindeer keepers. #reindeer #Sweden #Lappland #saami
