Welcome home! NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Joe Acaba, along with Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin landed back on planet Earth at 9:31 p.m. EST. The trio spent 168 days in space, orbiting Earth 2,688 times, conducted dozens of science experiments and saw the departure and arrival of eight different space ships.
The departing crew members also went home as experienced spacewalkers. Misurkin and Acaba each conducted one spacewalk and Vande Hei conducted four spacewalks during their five-and-half month stay on the International Space Station (@iss). Credit: NASA/Bill Ingalls
