High-voltage neon lipstick against chalky orange skin by #Sturtevant. Sturtevant created replicas of famous artworks by her male peers: Warhol, Oldenburg, and here, french painter Martial Raysse. A pointed feminist critique of the norms of the art world in the 1950s and 60s, she called these works "repetitions," which in some instances sold for more at auction than the originals.
