When exploring color, it helps to have a compass. A color wheel is an abstract diagram of color, a color compass. It organizes primary (red, yellow & blue), secondary (purple, orange & green) and tertiary (green-yellow, yellow-orange, orange-red, red-violet/purple, purple/violet-blue & blue-green) colors. It's a tool of both scientific analysis & art education. With it, the compliment of any color is easy to find, just look across from blue to find orange, or from red to green, or from yellow to purple. These are the most vibrant pairings of color; use them when collaging stickers or getting dressed in the morning.
