In 1984 Warhol began a series based on Da Vinci’s Last Supper (1495-97). Working from a cheap reproduction, over more than 100 iterations, Warhol experimented with layers of color, patterns, day-glo underpainting, collage and repetition.
We've assemblesd 4 of our favorites from '86, where the color blocks from Warhol's silkscreens patch together like stained glass.
