Sorry for the slight lateness of this post but we only found out about it this week too!
We have a bit of a platform now so why not use it for some good now and againđ. The reason for this post is because we didnât even know it was this easy to do, but it can make a huge difference to some peoples lives and experience of Christmas. If we can help spread the word then that will be fantastic.
We went off to fill a couple of trolleys full of presents as we were told that your local Salvation Army welcome any gifts that they can then distribute to families / children who arenât so fortunate this Christmas to receive presents. There was one story about a family going to McDonalds and the toy in their happy meal was their present for Christmas⌠yes there will be people in even worse circumstances than that but that one hit us hard and 2023 has no doubt been harder than ever for a lot of people.
The gifts do have to be new for safety reasons and there are a few other simple gifting guidelines on The Salvation Army website too.
They do accept gifts all-year-round for birthdays and even this weekend will be a busy time for them and a desperate time for many families so itâs not too late.
Your local Salvation Army should be in touch with local schools and social workers so theyâre in a pretty good position to get the presents to those who need them most.
