Raising strong girls is exhausting. Cos they be stubborn, they be sassy, they be stroppy and they be a little scary. But just like that old saying “raising strong girls that will hopefully lead a business one day and not a gang in prison” we try our best not to squash that strength and tell ourselves it’s a fabulous trait to have as an adult and it’s our job to get through it as a toddler. And then we celebrate the day she decides to finally wear something other than the shorts she wore for a week straight and actually wears a skirt even if she walked around all day shaking her hand like a dagger with this crazy look on her face. And even though she stood at the door of the shower with her cute outfit on and her crazy dagger shaking hand and asked “mum is that big wobbly round thing your bum?” And then proceeded to pretend to stab my bum with her dagger hand, she still makes me laugh, smile and die a little inside. Heres to raising strong girls, may we always have wine and a thick skin.
