This is a photo from a road trip we did when Indiana was 6 months old. We drove the entire country with her in the car and our Augustine range in the boot, selling it in to all our stockists. We didn’t have staff back then so we did everything. One of the days of our road trip was to see our stockist in Rangiora then head into the central city of Christchurch. One phone call changed the times of those appointments and instead we went to Christchurch first thing in the morning then headed to Rangiora for lunch. A phone call the possibly saved indie and Nathan’s life. The shop we were in that morning never reopened after the quakes and the shop indie and nathan had been in while I was selling was flattened to the ground. We felt the quake from Rangiora and then heard the devastating news of how bad it was in the city. My story is nothing but fate and a small story compared to the massive memories and pain so many families endured that day. The loss of lives and the loss of businesses, homes and livelihoods. So on this day, 10yrs on we must remember them and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those 185 whose story had the worst possible outcome. 🙏🙏🙏
