"single-use" describes plastic that is designed to be used once. it's a major contributor to ocean pollution and a cause of death for many sea birds and marine life. it's not easy to talk about, but keeping the conversation going is vital.

last month a 31ft sperm whale washed up in indonesia with 5.9kg of waste in it's stomach. the majority of this waste was hard plastics; 2 flip flops, 4 plastic bottles, 25 plastic bags and 115 plastic cups.

ONE of the best things you can do is buy a reusable coffee cup (and/or drinks bottle). it may sound like such a minuscule act, but we're living in the 21st century and billions of us buy takeaway drinks. when you think of the volume of non-reusable and non-recyclable waste that this creates on a daily basis, it's no wonder we're finding more and more of our cr*p inside these innocent animals.
