this giant mouth belongs to the largest known fish on our planet = the whale shark 💙 despite it's enormous size (it can grow 40ft+ in length) it's favourite food is tiny plankton, which it eats by swimming along with it's mouth wide-open scooping up and filtering everything in it's path, along with small fish and plants. .
like most sharks, whale shark numbers are rapidly decreasing due to being hunted and from pollutants in the oceans - plastic ingestion is especially a concern for filter feeders.
