atlantic puffins aka the parrots of the sea 🌈 these absolutely beautiful little birds live most of their lives at sea, only returning to land for breeding where couples often reunite at the same burrow site each year ❤️puffins dive to depths of 200 feet to hunt, feeding on small fish, sand eels and, as is the case with many sea birds now, microplastics. small, broken-down pieces of plastic + "nurdles" (plastic pellets) often look and smell like food to sea birds.
