From a young age, @ash__leslie knew she wanted to be a creative. After initially pursuing Graphic Design, she transitioned to painting full-time after the birth of her first daughter.
“After having a baby, I felt a little bit like a super woman, to be honest. I was just like ‘I've just made a person and I'm looking after it, and if I can do that, then I can be brave enough to go and approach a local cafe to see if they'd like to have my work. I can be brave enough to put my work in a show.”
When asking Ash her advice on investing in art, her tips were simple: “I wouldn't buy something that's necessarily on trend – I would buy something that you really connect to.” If you’re working with a small budget, “start with an artist print,” she adds.
Through her home and her work, Ash Leslie reminds us that art isn’t about fads or even style… It's about connection. Invest in what you love and you really can’t go wrong.
