In this week's #TheMakers, we tour ceramicist @nicolette__johnson's eclectic rental home meets art studio in Brisbane. ✨ Here, in her home studio, is where Nicolette creates her incredible ceramic pieces. Having established herself as a highly regarded maker over the past six years, Nicollette shares in our interview that she only stumbled upon the craft by chance. Before discovering her passion for pottery, Nicolette completed a Bachelor of Photography, and worked as a freelance photographer. Then, a struggle with her mental health* led her to enrol in weekly pottery classes in an effort to feel better and learn a new skill. A natural in the art, it only took a year of lessons for her to change course and start making ceramics full-time. Five years later, Nicolette's work is displayed in galleries across the country. 💫 Read our full interview with the award-winning ceramicist and discover more of her home at the link in bio. ✨ ✨ @becpurchase 📷 @mindicooke #BedThreads *If you are concerned about your health, please contact a medical professional.
