An Auckland resident was surprised to find a very large natural beehive had been created in her garden! Bee keeper Rose Weir said they were Italian Honey bees, and that the hive had been "beautifully built" and could contain up to 60,000 bees! Imagine that! Don't forget we must protect these little creatures, as they are a vital part of the ecosystem, and they are not out to harm you - just don't shake their hives if you find one! ??
