We started Brass in 2014 when we realized that our closets, -built by sales and fast fashion- weren’t serving our values and aspirations. After watching in horror as tragedies like Rana Plaza occurred and documentaries like The Real Cost, it was clear there was no other way to enter the apparel industry without an eye towards ethics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We're so honored to collaborate with @thegarmentlife to share more with you about who makes our clothes. We believe that people deserve to be educated about the process and hands that touch your clothes from ideation to your closet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At Brass, we are proud to work with two expert factories in Hangzhou and Dongguan, China. Both have been producing for the world's leading brands for the last 20 years - they are experts at their craft and their facilities and employee standards are of the highest quality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We visit both factories multiple times a year and over time, we’ve built friendships - spending time with our production managers, our pattern makers, our project managers, going out to lunch, dinner, spending time with their children, seeing their city, and building our team. For us, this is a huge point of pride in our commitment to making clothing ethically and exemplify the importance of community. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In sharing our story, we are also sharing 10% off the site with code FASHREV10. That same code can be used across the other amazing brands included in the giveaway earlier this week: @free.label @pyneandsmithclothiers @twofoldclothing @buttercreamclothing @encircled_ @only_child @minnowbathers @lenvers_fashion. Shopping ethically requires a lot of work, more than it should frankly, so this is one way we can make it a little easier. #fashionrevolutionweek #whomademyclothes #10000garmentgoal
