??‍♀️PART 2??‍♀️ . I’m sure you’re all like “WTF is this girl talking about?” or “WHY TF is she talking about it. She’s a vintage home decor account.” These are good questions. . I’ll answer one of those questions. I wouldn’t be here on Instagram shooting photos of my interior and selling my vintage scores on Etsy if I didn’t suffer from a chronic illness. I would, in all likelihood, be a professor of art history or working in a curatorial position. That would have been dope. But, just like my perspective, my lifelong goals had to change a bit, too. . I was just finishing up my master’s thesis in graduate school, working curatorial stints at the Guggenheim and the Whitney (aka living up my dream) when shit really hit the fan. . I finished my thesis from my hospital bed. I was NPO for a week (meaning no food or water, in layman’s speak), so my brain wasn’t functioning to its fullest capacity. But I did it. I was a determined little fuck. . As I prepped for doctoral program applications, I just became really, really super duper fucking sick. Instead of starting a new job, I was offered one of those Hobson choices: have my entire large intestine + rectum removed... or have my entire large intestine and rectum removed in an emergency, life-saving surgery at some dangerously imminent point in time. I opted for the former. . I thought that would be the end. The start to a new beginning where I could put most of my health problems behind me. . Turns out it was just the beginning. . . . #interiors123 #heyhomehey #mycollecteddecor #showemyourstyled #howyouhome #howwedwell #stopandstaredecor #breinspired #crashbangcolour #showmeyourboho #lonnymag #littleaccountlove #apartmenttherapy #ambularinteriorsaintgotnothingonme #beautifullyboho #brightboldhome #spotlightonmyhome #myhomevibe #sharemystyle #chronicillnesswarrior #ibdawareness #ibd #invisibleillness #themightysite #landgathome #designonadime #designattractor #designsponge
