It’s been one of those days... you know those days. The one you are excited for been then at every turn you encounter roadblocks and disappointment. I find one of the hardest parts of being an independent contractor is having to be your own HR person and run interference for yourself with how you are treated by companies/ clients that hire you. For the most part I’ve been blessed to work with some amazing people and clients who’ve become friends. But every once in a while a bad apple squeezes in and you have to put in your big girl panties and protect yourself because you have no one to turn to do it for you. And it’s the least fun part of this job or likely any job for that matter. We should treat everyone we work with from independent contractors, to bosses to the cleaning employees with nothing but respect. Having some chamomile tea and thinking how I can be smarted in the future to be able to avoid these kinds of situations.
