I love our home. Like I really, really love it. It is my safe haven & our little kingdom. It houses & shelters my three favorite humans in this entire world. It holds memories within these walls that will forever be seared in my mind. •
I’ve stared at these walls so much over the course of my adoption leave. I’ve rearranged furniture. I’ve painted. I’ve decluttered & simplified and sold the majority of our decor. I’ve printed pictures of our girl & I’ve had an endless list of DIY’s for Austin (love ya babe). And although all of these things have been done physically in this space, it still remains true that home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling. It’s the feeling of watching our babies take their first steps & say their first words here. It’s snuggling up on the couch with popcorn for a past-bedtime movie. It’s tear-stained pillows & slamming doors. It’s muddy feet & burnt cookies. It’s where my heart is, & always will be.
