To Sarah, HAGAR was nothing but a slave and concubine — a mere tool to be used. In fact, when Sarah couldn’t conceive a child, she literally “gave” Hagar to her husband (Abraham) to have a baby. BUT GOD saw value in Hagar. He saw a woman who was worthy of being blessed. God saw Hagar's value — she deserved a future and protection. Because of God's grace toward her, Hagar named the Lord “EL ROI.” It means “The God Who Sees Me.” No matter how invisible you feel, God sees you! He sees your value.
