Art basel is kicking off in Hong Kong this week and I thought it would be nice to share my first art acquisition story here.. The picture above is by artist Yago Hortal and was our wedding gift. I loved it so much that I bought it sight unseen. In the flurry of getting married I forgot to look into the small detail of... size ... A couple of weeks after our wedding my husband called me in a panic.. “Sasha what the hell have you bought.. there is a 20 foot CONTAINER downstairs wanting to deliver something to you!” I said.. oh don’t worry it’s probably just the packaging.. once opened it will be much smaller.. NOT... turns out it was 2x3 meters ??♀️??... my husband was not amused... and we ended up having to have somebody come and take the painting off the frame and reframe it in the flat.. ?
