For half a decade, Nick Murphy was releasing music as Chet Faker, but in 2016 he paid attention to a voice stirring within and returned to making records under his own name. Music for Silence is a part of his evolution. To write this album, Murphy retreated to upstate New York in solitude. He journaled every morning and played piano from day into night. This process was cathartic and birthed this powerful new album.
