🎶✨ NEW music by @systemsounds available in the Calm app. ‘Song of the Night Sky’ is a celestial lullaby created by translating the color and brightness of the night sky's stars into music.
🎼 The music is generated through a process called sonification - converting data into sound. As a virtual eye scans the celestial sphere, each star's light is converted into musical notes with redder stars producing lower notes and bluer stars producing higher notes. The brighter the star, the louder the note. Stars enter slowly during sunset and then each constellation produces a unique melody as it glides overhead. Throughout the night, the stars of the Milky Way combine to produce an evolving drone.
