Mindful Work Tip: Choose one priority.
Ask yourself: “What is the most important and most impactful thing on my to-do list?” And then focus on only that task.
When our project lists are long and our inboxes are full, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.
One mindfulness practice that can be helpful at work is to notice those sensations of being overwhelmed.
Pause.

And then choose one priority.
“What one task will make the most difference right now?”
If the sensations of overwhelm are particularly strong or choosing the most important task feels very difficult, a few minutes of meditation can help calm your mind and body and clarify your thoughts.
If your office has a meditation room or another quiet space for you to go, the Return to Now guided meditation series in the Calm app uses bell chimes to encourage stillness and presence - and is one of our favorites for overwhelm.
(If your workplace doesn’t have a meditation room, you might tell your human resources team about The Calm Booth by ROOM private meditation booth we collaborated on with our friends at @madebyroom — it’s designed for noisy open offices and is a meaningful employee benefit. *link for more info in bio*)
