Discussing emotions can be hard for a child to articulate, so take a deep breath and try some of these approaches: 1. Ask directly - show you care by asking “Is something wrong?” with no pressure to answer. 2. Give them space - allow them to process their emotions first. 3. Show empathy - share a story of a similar situation where you felt similar emotions. 4. Get creative - use images or art to help ease your child before getting them to talk about tough subjects. Remember: teaching a child to express their emotions can take time, but being aware of your child’s mental health is the first step. #CalmKids
