DRINKING WATER DOESN'T MEAN YOUR SKIN IS HYDRATED 🤯
Don't get us wrong― there are so many great reasons to drink H2O. It's refreshing, helps your brain function properly, maintains energy levels, aids in digestion, and ultimately keeps your body feeling 💯
As our dermatologist @drdendy says, "Staying hydrated is important, but drinking water alone does not promise hydrated skin. Your environment plays a big role in your skin's health. Dry air can quickly dehydrate skin, making it appear flaky and dull, and exaggerating signs of aging."
Although your skin can't drink, it does get "thirsty." Your cells lose water throughout the day through things like physical activity and just generally living your best life. The results?
Flaky and dry texture, making your skin more prone to fine lines, aging, and other skin conditions.
The solution? It's what you use on the outside, not on the inside. Rather than drinking water, applying a moisturizer and sleeping witht a humidifier to helpyour products do their job to the fullest is a far more effective way of addressing dry skin.
Raise your hand in the comments if you thought that the more water you drink, the more hydrated your skin will be - don't be shy 👋
