Let us acknowledge this day that is held on the traditional lands of the First Australians and all the people of this great land. Let us pay our respects to the elders both past and present and give recognition to all their descendants as the traditional custodians of this continent.
Today is a day to reflect on what has been achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation.. William Watson, Yiriman Cultural Boss said, ' When you walk on Country, you walk with a spring in your step, you walk with your head held high. You are not afraid of anything. In order to find yourself you have to get lost. Best place to get lost is in the Country'. .... We are all part of the future of this great country so lets embrace the connection to the land, water and our environment to family and community so we can walk this land together as friends and equals.
