In this period filled with fiery protests, heated discussions and uncomfortable revelations, our team has shown up every day, ready to serve the community with a smile. This is no easy feat when your mind is processing tragedy and injustice, and on top of that, you're seeing/experiencing scary events in your own backyard. We've been quiet in the feed lately because we've turned our attention inward, and prioritized our team during this time.

First and foremost, we thought it important to check in with each individual team member. Then, we sent out internal resources for mental health, safe protesting and supporting the movement in various ways. We encouraged team members to share about #BLM allyship in stories, and corinnawilliams penned a personal piece about her experience with racism, published by esquiregermany (English translation coming soon). We held a backyard bagel breakfast for the team and let the conversation flow naturally. 🌿🥯 And we shared good news, because everyone needs a little something to look forward to... especially now.

Our team is made up of troupers – a small, mighty, diverse and dedicated group that always deliver their absolute best. We are SO proud of them. 😭💛 A number of team members have said that being at work helps them take their mind off things, and we’re grateful to be able to stay open and provide a safe haven where people can feel productive amidst the upheaval.

Change doesn't come easily. But try starting with those closest to you: your friends, family, colleagues and community. Be kind to yourself and others as we all learn, educate and evolve into better human beings. And don't burn out! This *will* be a continuous process – most likely uncomfortable – and it will be a hard fought battle. Remember to take care of each other along the way. 💛
