Accountability is the “act of being held responsible”. Yesterday, we received a glimpse of accountabilty with the conviction of Derek Chauvin for the murder of our brother George Floyd. In turn, we were given a step in the direction of righting hundreds of years of oppression that has been allowed to operate unpunished for too long.
Yet, in the very same hours, the life of one of our young Queens, Ma’Khia Bryant, was taken at the hands of the Columbus P.D. Our love and support goes out to Ma’Khia Bryant and her family 🙏🏽
To our CISEFam, we will continue to use our platform in the same vein that it was initially created— to be a springboard for the voices of the Black community, strengthen the Black-dollar, and PROTECT the community.
We are committed to this fight. And this is just the beginning ✊🏾
