“6 years ago I went to the doctor for a regular check-up. During that check-up, they found a breast tumor. I remember being asked if I had been regularly checking myself, I hadn’t been, I didn’t even know how to. The biopsy of my tumor came back inconclusive. Because of this, surgery was scheduled for it to be removed. It had grown to the size of a golf ball at this point. I was so nervous, I was only 24 years old, took care of my body, how could this happen? The doctors successfully removed the tumor and after further testing, it came back non-cancerous. I was relieved. This experience ignited so many things for me. Why were more young women not taught how to check themselves, or educated about how toxic body products and medications can disrupt hormones leading to the development of tumors and cancer. When I learned about the Keep A Breast Foundation years ago and how its sole mission is to reduce breast cancer risk through education, prevention, and action it couldn’t have felt more aligned. Their app teaches you how to check yourself with monthly reminders, and they heavily educate you about non-toxic products. This collaboration is a dream come true and something I am super passionate about.” - @kayleigh.christina, co-founder of CLEARSTEM
