Pores are slurping up moisture like it’s their job lately! It’s legit been the DRIEST winter I can ever remember in San Diego. Like WTF kind of dryness where everyone is talking about it and my eyeballs hurt. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Dryness is FOR SURE an issue for both acne & aging concerns- here’s why it’s important to regulate your moisture!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1. Dryness can interfere with acne scars healing (dry skin can stay in limbo and not heal as fast as it should)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 2. Dryness leads to sensitivity so you’ll feel more tingling and your skin can be more reactive, especially if already sensitive. (TIP: scale back on your AHA and other exfoliants like CLEARITY & VITAMINSCRUB by doing them every other night!)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My go-to TIPS to hydrate and restore the skin during winter:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1. Minimize cleansing times, especially in the morning. *sometimes I just do a toner cleanse instead of washing*⁣ ⁣⁣ 2. Use cool water in your face to cleanse in the morning. (You’ll need it warm to remove makeup at night, but in the morning you’re fairly clean)⁣. Cool water is less drying.⁣ ⁣⁣ 3. Layer your moisturizer several times a day if you’re at home chillin. Working from home is just a lotion party depending on how you look at it, and you can’t overdo moisture.⁣ 🥳🥳🥳⁣ ⁣⁣ 4. Get a humidifier by your bed at night! We just lay there and dry out at night so a humidifier is 🙏⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 5. If your skin is cracked & peeling, grab the @albabotanical un-petroleum jelly and sleep with it to lock in your moisturizer. It’s thick but acne-safe and will assist in protecting your moisture barrier.⁣ ⁣⁣ 6. Use @liquidiv hydration multiplier! I love this electrolyte powder and can feel it helping me retain my hydration!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 7. Watch your caffeine & alcohol consumption cus these 2 are SUPER dehydrating in a way where it’s difficult to catch up ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 8. Drink 3L of water per day 🙌🏻⁣⁣ ⁣ 9. Eat juicy fruits & veggies that hydrate you as they digest, like apples & berries, cucumbers, etc.⁣ ⁣⁣ Stay thirsty my friends, and holler if you need additional help!⁣⁣ ⁣ (@selenagomez)
