Kris is the proud owner of BAKED!, a bread and pastry shop in Granbury, Texas, and is the “human embodiment of amazement and inspiration to all who meet her,” her nominator Kelly says. 🦄💓✨ When her kids were grown, she went to culinary school to fulfill her dream of owning a bakery. She started in a renovated horse trailer, traveling to farmers’ markets, and eventually purchased a property, renovated it, and BAKED! was born! 👩🍳🎊🎉⠀

Amid renovations, a pandemic, and opening the retail-side of her shop, she learned she had cancer. Kelly says, “She kept baking and supporting her community. In the last post I saw, her husband was shaving her hair, and now she’s posting photos of herself with cute hats and earrings. She never lets anything stand in her way. She always has a massive smile on her face.” 😇😍

Not only is she a shining example of resilience, but she also has a passion for empowering women. Kris’ mission aligns with ours in such a serendipitous way. Since starting BAKED!, she’s shared her vision, it is “Not just about the dough”; It’s about connecting with community and elevating women. She has a full staff of women bakers and makes sure they know they are valued and loved. ❤️🥰⠀
