Did you know? | The 4 phases of your cycle  🩸 Day 1-7: Menstrual phase  The hormone progesterone plunges, causing the uterine lining to shed. This is your period! 〰️ Day 7-14: Follicular phase Your pituitary gland releases a hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). This hormone stimulates your ovaries to produce around 5 to 20 small sacs called follicles. Each follicle contains an immature egg. 🥚 Day 14-21: Ovulation phase An egg gets released from its follicle in your ovary and will survive for 12-24 hours. 〰️ Day 21-28: Luteal phase After the follicle releases its egg, it changes into the corpus luteum. If you do get pregnant, your body will produce human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This is the hormone pregnancy tests detect. It helps keep the uterine lining thick and maintains the corpus luteum. If you don’t get pregnant, the corpus luteum will shrink away and be resorbed. This leads to decreased levels of estrogen and progesterone, which causes the onset of your period.  #boody #periodandleakproof #periodunderwear #periodfacts #menstrualcycle #planetfriendly #sustainability #ecofriendly #sustainable #bamboounderwear #cyclephases
