DAY 9 + 10 | Start a soft plastics bin
โ
โYour challenge:
Start a soft plastics bin in your household.
Soft plastics recycling is a less commonly practised form of recycling but it's super easy.
How:
The easy way to tell if plastic is soft or hard is the scrunch test. If it can be scrunched into a ball, it's soft. If it holds its shape, it's hard.
The following are 'soft' plastics and would go in this bin:
๐ Plastic shopping bags
๐ Bread, rice, pasta, lolly and cereal bags
๐ช Biscuit packs (but not the trays)
โ๏ธ Frozen food bags
๐ซง Bubble wrap
๐ Fruit and veg bags and netting
๐งป Toilet paper packaging and similar product packaging
โท Old reusable bags
IMPORTANT: Make sure your plastic is dry and as empty as possible!
