"This is my body. And I think it is amazing. I know it’s different to yours. I know I have a lot of scars and skin grafts. And I know I have surgical scars. And I know I have no legs. And I know one stump is shorter than the other. But none of that matters !!! I mean, I can walk on prosthetic legs which is in my opinion incredible !!!! I can do things that I never dreamt of doing because I was told that I couldn’t !!!! So my question is why should I be shamed because I’m disabled ? I shouldn’t be. Why should disabled people be shamed because their bodies are different to yours ? They shouldn’t be. This needs to be changed urgently. This is why I celebrate and share every small step in my journey. Because instead of shaming my body and myself and others for being disabled, I think we should all celebrate every. freaking. win. I might not be able to do everything, I might have a body that is different to you and a life that is a lot different also. But honestly, what I can do compared to what I could do just a year ago is huge - so if you did something today that is a win for you, then celebrate the absolute hell out of it - you deserve to." - @lauren_mcdonough in Boody. ✨
