Do you have a tip for using dark colours successfully? I can’t help but think, somewhat ironically, that it is all about light.

Left alone dark colours can be quite depressing but introduce a carefully positioned light, metallic and mirror details and/or a few brights and suddenly the whole scheme is elevated to something special and uplifting.

In this glorious home bar, the base blue is deep and moody, but the injection of the gold detailing (scroll across to see the brass filigree shelf brackets, so worth the hours I know it too Debbie to find them) clever hidden LED strips embedded in the shelves to reflect the crystal glassware and pops of colour, bring it all to life so beautifully.
