DÉCLIC Wednesday Inspirations - The Market Theater Gum Wall in Seattle is a local landmark that has been gathering bubblegum since the early 1990's. It's said that the tradition of sticking chewing gum started from the theater patrons waiting outside before shows. Gum is stuck to the walls along an alley for more than 15 metres (50 feet)! Not surprisingly, there are some areas of the wall which are several inches thick!⠀
In 2015, the one and only cleanup was undertaken which took 130 hours to complete. An incredible 1065 kilos (2,350 pounds) of old and new gum were scraped away. It hasn't taken long for a kaleidoscope of new gum to reappear! Inspirational or just plain disgusting? 🤔
