Flipping that grip! So a couple of people have asked me recently about getting into a flipped grip in dancer's pose, kind pigeon and even tiger pose ?? So I thought I'd post a clip of the easiest way into dancers! Firstly, it's nicest to learn with shoes ON, helps your balance and to hold onto your foot ? Watch the first part of this clip slowly: how to get your hand facing the right way can be confusing and tricky. You want to get your little finger close to your big toe and your palm flat along the top of your foot. Once holding onto your foot you need to rotate your elbow to the face the front and over your head. This is the weirdest part to get ? I would suggest practicing holding onto something with the other hand to start out with. Once your grip is flipped you can start to walk your other hand towards your foot, depending on your flexibility and balance this may take a lot of concentration to get both hands to your feet. But with practice it honestly gets much easier! You can try this flipping process with a band, a strap or a towel, and it really helps get used to the balance and the stretch! ? Things to work on: flexibility of your hips, quads and hamstrings; as well as an open chest, spine and shoulders; also single leg balances! ? This is one of my favourite asanas because it requires a balance of strength and flexibility, plus a lot of concentration ?? #practiceandalliscoming ?
