You scroll on your social media, for what sometimes seems endlessly, and you see all these people smiling, having fun and living the life. The life you should be living. And you smirk with your face while you are scrolling during your study break while that giant 1000 pages book is looking at you. You should be that happy. So you get sad and frustrated instead because your life looks so much different from what these people are showing.

Comparison is the thief of joy. And trying to fit into the picture of a someone else's life will only make you sad and miserable.
Your soul will be crushed and it won't take long before you start questioning your wildest dreams.

You may think I lead a perfect life. Because I try to post only positive stuff. But that doesn't mean I don't suffer. Just because it's not here, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

This summer I was locked in my house for a month in order to pass the hardest exam of my life. It was hard. It was painful. But so worth it.
Before passing it, I failed it a few times. And the hell I had to go through at home cause of that I don't wish upon anyone.
I switched college and while my peers are getting their diplomas, getting jobs, living their life, I am still pretty much stuck where I am stuck.
I have contemplated would it just be better to find a lousy job for the rest of my life in order to just be able to stand on my own feet.
I am still trying to figure out what is it exactly that I want to focus on.
And you know what?
Even though some days are more hard than the other ones, it doesn't mean I shouldn't smile. And be happy.
Because, at the end of the day everything is in my hands. And how I choose to live my life - that is how my life will be.
And that is why I choose happiness.
Even on the darkest of days.
