We’ve been working with handstands and this box L-shaped pose all week and not very surprisingly, most people are quite fearful of this playful yet challenging pose. Unlike headstand the technique here is quite different and less fearful since the very delicate neck is not involved however those arms need to work and we need co-operation from the upper body. Yet it is quite interesting to see how this pose initially can be quite intimidating to a lot of people. The fear on the mat sometimes reflects our fear in life due to reasonable reasons emerging from our past. Perhaps taking a step towards a new relationship, perhaps saying Yes to a fresh new project or starting a new learning curve helps us explore on ad off the mat. Conversely trying new poses on the mat may prompt us to be less fearful in taking chances off the mat too ;) I think I’ll carry this pose along for the following week too?? Looking forward to spending the weekend with my yogi lovelies ?? ?@dharmabumsactive
