The Queen’s Landing - one of my most prized possessions. It comes with a beautiful story of its own. Where do I even begin?
6 years ago, my boyfriend (now, husband @dheeru28 ) started asking me what type of rings reflect my style. I always knew what I wanted; clean cut, bold and timeless.
In December 2016, he proposed to me with the first component to what would become my most emotionally valued piece of jewelry.
As we drew closer to the wedding, my parents faced me with the same question. “What ring represents your style? We want to give you something you’ll cherish as your Kanyadaan ring”. Let me explain, In the Hindu culture, a sacred ritual (often misunderstood) called “Kanyadaan” is followed which invokes very deep-seated emotions and sentiments wherein the bride’s parents request the groom to accept their daughter as his equal partner.
I knew I wanted something meaningful that I would cherish for years to come so my mother @kareenadk presented me with my grandmother’s ring - a vintage ring with a stack of three rows of brilliant cut diamonds set in yellow gold. A classic yet not something I would wear on the daily. This is when I decided to revamp it to functionally work together as an extension of my engagement ring.
As seen above, the ring consists of 3 rows of diamonds in 3 gold washes - Yellow, Rose and White gold. The white gold middle band is a removable component. This allows the engagement ring to be worn in the centre, flushed with the 2 rows of diamonds above and below - a beautiful symbolic representation of my parents blessing my marriage.
