The Korean artist Do Ho Suh recently explained in an interview that his gauzy, translucent installations “don’t come straightforwardly from my homesickness, or a deep longing for the specific location. They’re more about reflecting on what we carry with us, how we move through the world and relate to all other objects.” Re-creating interiors in sheer polyester — such as his apartment at 348 West 22nd Street in New York City — the artist describes them as devices “to evoke emotion, memory and sensation.”
