Activity levels at Dims. HQ have been at an all-time high the past couple weeks. In case you’re feeling similarly overbooked this Monday, we’re sharing some serenity from the home of Swedish furniture designer and architect, Bruno Mathsson (1907 – 1988). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Located in Småland, a southern province of Sweden famous for its design heritage, the home is built near the shores of Lake Vidöstern — just south of Värnamo, Mathsson’s hometown. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mathsson's love for the natural world manifested itself not only in the location of the home but also in the full-length glass walls that encompass it. He so valued the outdoors that he could often be found sleeping outside in the private courtyard connected to the bedroom.
We imagine he also spent many evenings here, on his own Pernilla Lounge Chair, designed in the ‘40s for @dux_official.
