Dims. family, meet the newest member of our growing design team, Stine Aas. (First name pronounced “stee-na,” last name pronounced “oss” like “boss.”) Based in Bergen, Norway, Stine’s been designing furniture since middle school. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@stineaas was assigned her first chair design as a small child in art class. (Scandinavian school system, am I right?) "We only had to make a drawing of it but I remember this was an exciting task for me and I took it very seriously." Fearing that her drawing was not descriptive enough, she went ahead and made a small model of the design — a round ball with a scooped portion in which to sit. "Although it was simple, I remember being frustrated by the lack of enthusiasm from my fellow peers. Surely this was the coolest, most ingenious idea ever?" 😆
While we can't speak for the ball chair, we certainly think the one she has designed for Dims. is pretty cool and ingenious. When asked what type of ice cream best describes her design, Stine was quick to reply with, "One scoop of pistachio! Made with a few, quality ingredients to cultivate the pistachio flavor." 😋 Sounds about right to us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
