Solid wood has always been our favorite material to work with, because of the dynamic, imperfect qualities of wood grain. Each tree 'tells a story' of its growth (and inevitable death) through its grain. We may not fully grasp the tree's story but are intuitively drawn to its aesthetic expression. It reminds us of "three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect" (words of writer Richard Powell).
