"I stared into this black hole, a void seemingly endless, a stark reminder of emptiness. My heart sank to my stomach, tears streamed down my face. As I write these words, that haunting feeling rushes back to me.
It's a vast emptiness that resonates with every soul in our nation. The simple beauty of a handshake, the warmth and love found in hugging a stranger – these became a lot more normal as we stripped ourselves down to our most basic, human instincts – the urge to give.
I stood there, heart heavy, choking back tears with every breath. And in that moment, I thought to myself, look at what beauty was created here in the midst of this evil and tragic loss. It's a stark reminder that our response to any situation reveals our true character. It's a gut-check reality, a testament to loving every red-blooded American as if they were our own brothers and sisters. That this nation under God, is a beautiful fucking one.
We can stand tall. We can unite. We can provide for our families, lend a helping hand to one another, and infuse every action with joy and kindness.
This is a memory of grief, one shared by all of us. But what we do with this memory, how we build a community around it, defines us.
Join us in supporting the families of the fallen heroes who gave all on that day. We appreciate you all, thank you for coming together with us to make a difference.” - @dannydixxon2.0
