Since 1959, Childhelp has saved and transformed the lives of more than 12 million children through its prevention, intervention and treatment programs.
We get it. Child abuse is a topic that’s easy to shy away from, but it’s one that needs all of the attention it can get.
In the U.S. alone:
- Five children die EACH DAY as a result of abuse.
- Child abuse is reported every 15 SECONDS.
- Child Protective Services receives 7 MILLION referrals each year.

Back in 2000, in an effort to increase child abuse awareness — and ultimately eliminate it — Childhelp founders Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson established the National Day of Hope. And since then, the day has been observed every year, on the first Wednesday of April, during National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
In honor of this year’s National Day of Hope and in collaboration with Childhelp, we are releasing the Day of Hope Flannel.
