One of my favorite parts of wandering the streets of Bali is stumbling upon the beautifully prepared Hindu offerings. As anyone who's been to Bali knows, these tiny, hand woven baskets of flowers, rice and small money are quintessential to the surroundings, and I love to take the time to admire their beauty. The philosophy behind the offering is self-sacrifice in the time and effort taken to assemble, and often I'll add my favorite frangipani flower as a means of honoring the mystery creator. In a place that roars with the sound of motorbikes and traffic it's nice to take a moment to pause, take a deep breath and express some gratitude.
