2021, what a year.
A year of extraordinary loss and heartbreak, but also a year of incredible strength and resilience. On this last day of the year, I’m full of so many different emotions…
I’ve always been proud of this incredible EF Community, but this year I have a new perspective and gained a much deeper appreciation. Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable and embracing me with open arms… your words of encouragement, your messages, and sharing your stories and experiences has helped me so profoundly on my journey of healing.
This collage of photos represents a strength in myself I never knew I had. A strength to keep going, a strength to try and move forward and turn my deep pain into something productive - helping others.
My husband and I created Angels4Austin in memory of our son, Austin Davis Strauss. Our foundation aims to provide small comforts and supportive resources to NICU families and raises funds for pediatric polycystic kidney disease, the horrible disease that ultimately took Austin’s life.
A highlight of our efforts this year - Our “lovies” initiative inspired by an Instagram follower who has become a friend, @lgrimes217 . It was magical seeing how many of you were also inspired, got involved and contributed to this cause…
With your incredible support and all of your generous purchases and direct donations, we secured 5000 lovies to comfort NICU families across the country and raised nearly $250,000 for PKD research! None of this would have been possible without all of you, and we are just getting started!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this cause, and for supporting all of EF Collection’s initiatives in honor of my precious Austin. I’m so grateful other families will feel the love and support you’ve shown me and my family over this last year.
